Mission

The fundamental purpose of the Association is to perpetuate among the Governors State University community the friendships formed at the University and to bind these alumni/ae into an organization for the purpose of serving the needs of the alumni/ae and of promoting the growth and development of Governors State University.

Programs & Services

A wide range of programs and services are offered to alumni throughout the year. Educational workshops and seminars are conducted during our "Alumni College Day Conference." Alumni and their families are also invited to attend several social, cultural, recreational activities, etc. Some of the special events include cruise outings, tickets to sport events, and plays. Alumni have also been invited to attend academic discipline networking receptions. The alumni travel program offers annual trips to Europe to visit places like Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, etc. The Association is in the process of reactivating previous alumni clubs and will be starting up new clubs. An alumni newsletter is published twice a year, with special emphasis on alumni accomplishments in the "Evidence of Excellence" section. Upcoming alumni events are also announced in the newsletter, as are University news-related updates.
